Restaurant Reviews: Tips BBQ (Iuka, MS)
Located in Iuka, MS. I was there for a few days and passed by this place a couple of times and noticed they are only open Thursday-Saturday so be aware if you plan to stop in, I am not sure if those are the hours all year or not. I was there through a Thursday and decided to try for lunch that day. Very nice and friendly staff with a good selection of BBQ and other things (like stuffed potatoes and a thing they call BBQ sundae sandwich) to order.
Again, as we found with all restaurants in this area the prices were dirt cheap. The pork sandwich was around $3 and my plate was less than $7 with the rib added.
My guest had the “regular bbq” which in Mississippi means pork sandwich. I had the polish sausage plate and added a rib (can buy ribs here per rib for $1.50 each). For sides I had beans and potato salad. The sausage and rib were very good, no complaints at all on the BBQ, the rib was very tender and the sausage was seasoned well and tasted great. The sides definitely seemed home made and tasted good as well. They make their own sauce here and we tried all 3 (mild hot and mix). The mild was good but I did not care for the hot and mixed, it seemed over seasoned and I liked the bbq better with no sauce on it or just the mild.
BBQ pork sandwich was also good. About the standard pulled pork you get anywhere in Mississippi. I plan to go back on our next trip trough this area and try their home made chili and some other menu items.
