Restaurant Reviews: Riverside Patty (Baton Rouge, LA)
Riverside Patty has been Open since 1982. They started off in Downtown Baton Rouge. They opened a second Location on Cloverland (just off of Seigen Ln.) After 30 years due to reason beyond their control they had to shut down the Downtown Location. However, the Second Location is thriving and is every bit as good than the original Location. They specialize in Hand made Burgers, but as you can see from the menu picture, they offer a wide variety of food. There are also several Specials written on chalk boards around the ordering counter.
They got Bonus points from the second we walked in due to us seeing this in the dining room. that’s is right an original Ms. Pac man Arcade game!!! After we ordered we played several rounds while waiting for the food to come out. This game brought back many good memories and Also made teh wait time fly by. Our burgers were ready before we knew it!
We had the “Super Burger” Which is a Half pound, Hand made All Beef patty Dressed with jalapenos, bacon, mushrooms, mayo, cheddar and Swiss cheese in addition to the Lettuce, Tomato and pickles that come on all of their burgers. All of that placed on a well toasted Sesame Seed Bun. I had Chili Cheese fries on the side.
The Burger itself was AMAZING. Beef was high quality and fresh. Cooked perfectly. nice and juicy. bacon was Crisp. They somehow piled all of those toppings on the burger while keeping it nice and Neat. Nothing fell off the burger while eating it which I was impressed with. All produce was fresh as could be and the toasted bun was a nice touch.
Chili-Cheese fries were good but could have used another minute or 2 in the fryer, Also chili was on the bland side.they were acceptable for sure but with a couple of tiny modifications could be excellent.
We also had some Cajun Q’s Which are curly Q’s with a Cajun seasoned batter and deep fried. these were good. Nice and Crispy. Not greasy at all.
This place get PACKED at lunch time and for good reason. They are also open until 8pm on Fridays. Family that runs the place are very nice and care about the food they serve. They have put out consistently great products for over 30 years and we commend them for this. Stop in and get a down right good burger (maybe the best in town)
