Restaurant Reviews: The Cove Hawaiian Grill (Baton Rouge, LA)
The Food served at The Cove is Inspired by flavors from the Hawaiian Islands, The COVE serves up fresh and delicious Asian fusion comfort foods that locals have enjoyed on the islands for decades now served right here in Baton Rouge. The dished here consists of rice and macaroni salad and a meat or seafood entree served in generous portions. The Staff is Very friendly and Helpful. Restaurant is cozy and very clean.
I must say I was skeptical at first but this place won us over with kindness and good food!! The First thing I tried was the Beef (Bulgogi). Which is thin sliced marinaded Beef cook on a grill. Reminiscent of Teriyaki beef but with more flavor.
I was also very fond of the Spicy Pork. Grilled pork cutlet that was cooked perfectly. drizzled with a Asian glaze this dish is a tasty choice for the pork lover.
The overall favorite was the beef short ribs. SOOOO tender and flavorful..These are also marinated for hours then seared on a hot grill. I found myself wanting more and more with each bite. Before I knew it I had down an entire pile of these delectable ribs. They Also go perfectly with the Macaroni salad and rice sides. Each plate is also served with a cup of their home made Sauce.which I can only describe as thin teriyaki sauce but again with a better balanced flavor than traditional teriyaki. The sauce is Great poured over everything on the plate. (I even asked for a second cup to dip the rib meat in!!)
Needless to say I will be a repeat customer. Slide on By this place on Jefferson hwy. near Bluebonnet if you are in the mood for something new & different for lunch. To our knowledge this is Baton Rouge’s only Restaurant that serves this type of food.
