Restaurant reviews: Crawfish Town USA (Henderson, LA)
This place in set up inside an authentic barn dating to the early 1900’s. They are known for boiled crawfish, Steaks and classic Cajun Food. Crawfish Town is home to some of Louisiana’s most well-respected chefs. Located off I-10 at the Henderson/Cecilia (Exit 115). Come see for yourself why Crawfish Town USA has become the area’s top Cajun restaurant for both visitors & locals alike.
This place is HUGE, so do not worry about waiting to long, even if the parking lot is full. there is a small souvenir shop in the front part of the restaurant where you can pick up local Cajun seasonings, hot sauce , post cards and etc.. They also have a seafood deli and small grocery store right next door ran by the same people. They are a tad expensive, but the food quality and portion sizes make it worth the money no doubt.
Thee 2 dishes we sampled on this trip was the Boiled Crawfish (since they were in season) and a one of the house specials “La Bam Breme”
They will Make your crawfish whatever level of spicy you want. We liked this as we tend to like things spicier than most. so I ordered mine Extra spicy. They were good size and cooked right. no water build up inside, not mushy or soft… Crawfish meat was perfect, and the spice level was spot on what I thought I would get when I said extra spicy. My nose was running and lips burning by the time I peeled the last one! Potatoes and corn were also great. They are boiled separately so they help to cool the spicy in between crawfish. MMMMMMM
This next dish is a Rock star!! I give you… La Bam Breme! Presentation get it a “10” alone! A tower of Cajun treats all on top of a pool of Crawfish Etouffee. The tower consist of Fried Eggplant, Grilled Catfish Filet, Crab Cake, Fried Catfish and Fried Oysters. Everything was absolutely Delicious!! Catfish was SOOO fresh. Meat was pure white and flaky. Fried items were fried to perfection, not greasy at all and very crispy. Shrimp were large fresh shrimp right from the gulf of mexico. The Etouffee. on the bottom was a nice texture, slightly thick and full of the flavor of Louisiana crawfish. If you are a first timer to this place, this is the dish I recommend you to try
By now you can tell we recommend this place big time and suggest you treat yourself to a meal at Crawfish Town USA as many times as humanly possible!! More Reviews on this place will come in the near future!
